I washed my hair tonight with my baking soda mixture followed by an apple cider
vinegar-water rinse for the first time in five days which is when I started going "shampoo-free." Honestly,
I probably could have gone at least another day without a wash, but a sweaty
day at the park made me want to start with a fresh head again.
I have to say I am really
impressed with how this is going so far.
My hair feels incredibly light right now. With commercial shampoo and conditioner, my
hair felt so weighed down after a washing.
I also notice that with just some quick flat ironing and shine serum the morning after a
wash I am frizz-free day after day after day. Oh
and in case you’re wondering, I’m still taking showers but just putting my
hair up in between washings. I just had
to say that.
I took this picture just before
jumping into the shower. I wish I would
have brushed my hair to show some bounce, but you get what you get.

This next picture shows how my
looks air-dried. A little dry but not bad for some
household items and water.
(In regard to the oil-cleansing method, I am still being a wuss and only using the castor oil. I really want to incorporate maybe some
jojoba oil to moisturize, but I think I will wait maybe a month before putting
my face into shock. In the meantime, I
do notice that my skin is brighter, and my tone is starting to even out.)
Tomorrow I’m going to try snapping
some photos for a much overdue “Day in Pictures” post that I should have on
here Friday morning. I had fun with the
last one I did, so I hope to get one out once a month from now on. :)
