Day in Pictures: My Strangely Meaningful Thursday

Well, I finally have another "Day in Pictures" post.  Thursday was a pretty normal day, but sometimes it's the small details in life that cause us to stop and think.  Here's my yesterday:

After a pretty lazy morning which included telling Carter that we will make him breakfast "in a little bit" over and over again, I headed off to my doctor's appointment as Clint took Carter to school.
Same old, same old.  Caden's doing well.  I'm doing well.  Just ready already.

At home, I started working on some writing and research.  It didn't take too long before I started getting frustrated with writer's block/not being able to breathe/it's too hot/mom duties I had to do/etc./(insert another excuse here).

The created/actual frustration caused poor Clint to deal with my whiney cryfest...

So he made breakfast for lunch and some time to listen before class.  I gulped down my turkey bacon and scrambled egg whites and started feeling a little better.  (Yes, this is actually appetizing to me.)

This is appetizing to him.  (It's a frittata in case you were wondering.)

After Clint went to class and the house was extremely quiet except for the sweet sound of the whizzing fan, I got back to work.

Humility check of the day, Isaiah 58.

Armed with keys and a lime popsicle, I headed out to pick up Car.

Pit stop at home to snack it up with yogurt.  This is also where it was revealed that he received a sad face today in the  "I was kind to my friends" category.  Time to talk, Mr. Carter.

Then, off to Target for a quick shopping trip.

Carter is so excited to help us in the kitchen, but I think we had approximately 23 close calls while making a chocolate satin pie.

He just couldn't help himself.  This is your warning if you are faced with eating something that comes out of the McCullough kitchen.
After a scrumptious soft taco bar dinner, we left to go to small group...and I forgot my camera.  I promise I went.  Thankful for a good time with good friends because of our very good God.

With Carter asleep, we had chocolate satin pie all to ourselves!

So thankful for him!  My feet were killing me!
Yesterday really reminded me how the norm or routine in life can still show true colors, what's going on underneath.  So often we are on the cusp of letting it all out.  Sometimes it takes a web page not loading fast enough, a sad face on a progress report, or a huge piece of chocolate satin pie.  Take away message from yesterday:  give yourself a break.
