Carter's sermon and other precious moments

Carter is full of surprises.  He soaks up so much and puts his own little twist on life; the results make for an interesting afternoon.  After church yesterday, he picked up his Jesus Storybook Bible and decided to preach for a little bit.

Carter's Sermon
"God loves you.  Jesus loves you.  God's son is Jesus.  Obey your parents.  We love God.  God loves us even when we're bad.  One is a number.  God really wants you to obey your parents.  Eat healthy foods.  Jesus died on the cross for all of the sins.  Obey your parents...OK, let's sing a song."

(Pretty straight forward.  I know I occasionally need a reminder about what is a number.)

These are some of the precious moments that make me smile, hide a laugh, or pick my jaw up from the floor.  Here are some other recent ones:

Carter's infatuation with my hair
"Mom, I don't like your hair up.  Please put it down.  Right now.  And please do not ever cut your hair."

Carter, World Citizen
With the start of the Olympics, Carter cheered for USA, but about halfway through he became a fan of the opposing country.  Now when he wants to "play" Olympics he wants to be Brazil or Spain.  ????  We've got to get him listening to Lee Greenwood or something.

Growing Carter
While cuddling, I told Carter not to grow anymore.  He said, "God makes me grow.  You can't stop it.  God says, 'Sorry, Desiree, you can't stop Carter growing.'"

Carter's hard lesson learned about texting
I watched Carter ride his bike (if that's what you want to call it; he refuses help) on the back patio.  All of a sudden, he lost control and fell off.  When I went out to check on him, he dramatically stated, "I'm OK.  I was not paying attention because I was texting on the road."  What?!  We don't even text while we drive; where did he see that?  It later clicked when I saw the public service announcement that is currently running on TV about a guy who got into a car accident because he was texting while driving.  Wow.

And I'm sure we will have another moment today.  So thankful for my little guy!
