This past week has been busy. Not a bad week. Just wishing I had more time to catch my
breath. Check it out:
I started with my first project
on my new sewing machine. It has been in
the box since the beginning of December, and I was waiting for our move into
the new house to bring it out. I made a
simple tote for my mom. Turned out
great! I will probably pump out a couple
more this summer. My next project is a
cute credit card holder and then a simple clutch. I so badly want to make some skirts (have
made a couple in the past—very easy!), but I’d rather wait post-pregnancy.
Since I took off this semester
from SEBTS, I decided to take an online freelance writing course to learn more
about the field. I’ve really enjoyed it
and have gained a lot out of my instructor’s assignments. I’m really looking forward to confidently
sending out some query letters soon!
We also all got hit by a stomach
virus this past week. As usual, Carter
came down with it first on Monday. (It’s
amazing how an adorable child can bring a whole house down to its knees with
illness; we need to do a better job at quarantining him next time.) My body was so beat down from running up and
down the stairs because of all the cleaning of sheets, towels, clothes, and
sick little boy that I desperately made the one-hour round-trip drive to get
Clint from work to help me out at home.
Yeah, that bad. I know, the “Mom
of the Year” title just slipped from my hands.
The next day I got hit with the plague
and, as usual, got hit with it worse than little man. It was so bad I called the on-call doctor for
my OB practice to see if I should go to the ER at 2:30 in the morning. I sucked it up. Not because I’m a trooper but because I was
too lazy to go to the hospital. God
spared me, and I started feeling better Wednesday afternoon.
A couple of days came and
went. Had Clint beaten the virus? Was he immune? Nope.
My strong man toppled down on Saturday.
(I told him he should have worn a mask!)
He, of course, got hit with it the worst.
With all of that fun, we are
really looking forward to Easter break this week and…a trip to the ZOO! We are obviously excited for Carter to see
all the animals, but, honestly, Clint and I have really been anticipating
this. It has been forever since we’ve last
gone. Hopefully, we’ll behave and not
push any little kids out of the way (including our son).
Got to get that “Mom of the Year”
title back somehow. :)
