“I...am…still...here.”
A gasp fills an underground
chamber deep in the earth somewhere under the Arctic Circle. A frail woman emerges from a
humongous glass chamber and immediately stumbles to the ground. Her eyesight is still blurred but quickly
comes into focus. Even in this
disoriented state, she finds it odd that she is solely drawn to the speckled
rainbow colored granite flooring.
Eventually, she is broken from the floor’s spell and looks up to find
walls and walls of buzzing machines with flashing buttons surrounding her. She looks down and finally realizes that she
has no clothes. At that very moment, a
door slams shut, and she hears hard, deliberate footsteps coming closer…
Guess what—I made back! (I’ll have to tell the rest of that story
some other time.)
Yeah, it’s been about four months
since I last posted. This hiatus
(totally unintentional) has definitely brought me to some changes. Such as:
- We are expecting our second son, Caden Jude, in May.
- I am not attending classes this upcoming semester (major sad face), but God is helping me see that this is a much needed time for reflection and opportunity.
- We are also trying to plan for a move with our new addition on the way.
Where was I really for four months? Busy
with school. (I know, not very exciting; that is why I had to start the post
with some excitement about my whereabouts!) My night class crushed my energy level
considerably. With all the writing I had
to do this past semester, I had no juice left for spieling about life on my
neglected blog.
It’s been nice not focusing on a
couple of months in advance like I’m used to, and this even goes with Caden’s
arrival (the bliss of subsequent pregnancies!).
I’m not looking at next month or really next week. All I really am concerned with (excluding
taking care of my family) are my need for fusible interfacing for a sewing
project, an anti-human trafficking conference this weekend, and God giving me
opportunity to dive into what He has in store for me today…just today.
So, yes, I am still here. Instead of a gasp for desperate air and a demanding
need for clarity, I now happily sigh and look forward to being led out of my
comfort zone. (“Comfort zone” is being
used loosely here because I would love some relief from the effects of my
slooooowwww digestive system. Thanks,
Caden!)
With that, I look forward to
posting more often again. It’s good to
be back! (This is especially so compared
to being in the Arctic Circle trying to escape in a crate full of whale
blubber. My goodness, what a crazy
story!)
