I love my birthday! I love getting older! I have no idea why people (my husband) dread it. One reason I love it is because our family doesn't just celebrate our birthdays for one day (blech...one day?); we each have a birthday week. With our crazy schedules, there is no way to just celebrate on one day. There's usually a whole bunch of random stuff we want to do, and we spread it out over a week...plus or minus a couple of extra days.
My birthday was Thursday (so happy to finally not be in Savannah for my St. Pat's birthday), but it really started almost a week prior with a trip to Marbles for Carter. Yes, I wanted to take Carter somewhere he would enjoy when I could do whatever for me; it makes me happy to see him happy. Later in the week (still not on my actual birthday), Clint and I got away to Crabtree to walk around and eat at PF Changs (good but overrated).
On my actual birthday, I got tulips, three bottles of Lime Perrier, ice cream cake, Rosemary and Olive Oil Triscuits, and hummus from Clint and Carter. My friend Ruth surprised me with Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Later in the day, I knew we really needed to go grocery shopping, so we forced ourselves out to Harris Teeter and Kroger. Spending $57.00 and saving $64.00 made it worth it though! We then ended the evening with Papa Murphy's (sooooo good!).
On Friday, I got two gift cards that I used for stuff for the house (tower fan) and Carter (soccer goal). I wanted to go to Goodwill but didn't have time for that (I know, what a weirdo).
This next week is going to be a killer. I will start P90X with Clint, need to do major work on two papers, and have a mid-term on Thursday. Prayers will definitely be needed because a birthday month is just not happening. :)
And now, a couple of my favorites from this past week (click a photo to make it bigger):
Happy birthday! What a fun week!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a great birthday week (all I could manage was a birthday weekend, but mine was fun, too!)!! I loved the pics!
